The original Winston-Salem landmark
The Historic Brookstown Inn has stood on Brookstown Avenue since 1837, first as a mill, then as warehouse space, and since 1984 as an inn. Seventy-one rooms now fill two restored mill buildings, no two quite alike, with exposed brick and heavy timber throughout. Hot breakfast, parking and WiFi come with every stay. Old Salem is a short walk, and so is most of downtown.

Francis Fries built the Salem Manufacturing Company on this site in 1837. It milled cotton, then flour, and by 1942 held nothing but warehouse stock. Demolition was scheduled in 1976 until Old Salem stepped in. The inn opened in 1984 with forty-one rooms, and thirty more followed in 1991.

Old Salem Museums and Gardens is a short walk from the front door and Reynolda House a few minutes beyond it. The inn sits off US-52 and I-40, twenty-three miles from Piedmont Triad International.
